The next event is the sixth annual "Dam Beaver Poker Paddle" sponsored by the Bouchie Lake Watershed Stewardship Society, with the funds being specifically targeted for improving the landscaping of the public access site at Milburn Lake (See projects). This year's event is being held on Saturday 23rd August 2025 at the Milburn Lake public access starting at 11am (See adjoining poster). The event consists of paddling the perimeter of the lake, drawing a playing card at each of five stations located around the lake with prizes for the top six poker hands, the lowest hand and several random draws. 

This popular event has been steadily growing over the last six years with initial registration of 30 in 2020, building to 45 in 2023, 68 in 2024 and this year we are preparing for up to 100. A fun event for everyone and a good excuse to explore and get to know the lake.
