Our Mission Statement:

"Bouchie Lake Watershed Stewardship Society is committed to enhance and maintain the health of the waters of Bouchie Lake, Milburn Lake and their watershed for the overall benefit of the ecosystem"

Our previous mission statement read:

"Bouchie Lake Watershed Stewardship Society is committed to enhance and maintain the health of the waters of Bouchie Lake, Milburn Lake and their watershed area to the benefit of all lake shore residents and all lake users." 

It was then pointed out to us that this was maybe too "anthropocentric", so after some discussion we settled on the current statement with the understanding that "lake shore residents and lake users" are included within the term "ecosystem". 

What is a simple definition of ecosystem?

The simplest definition of an ecosystem is that it is a community or group of living organisms that live in and interact with each other in a specific environment.

The current mission statement is therefore part of our ongoing commitment to express ourselves as an environmentally caring society.
